Mary Shelley Her life influence in Frankenstein. Mary...

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley endured many hardships during her life. Some of these included her mother dieing during childbirth, her loathing stepmother, and later in life, the death of her beloved husband. Although she maintained a strong relationship with her father, it did not cover-up the absence of a strong maternal figure. It was called the Rime of the Ancient Mariner; night after night, Mary s father would recite this. It was about a lonely man on the sea being haunted by the loneliness and icy waters of the ocean. This, of course, is used throughout the book when Robert Walton is on his lonely quest to reach the North Pole. Or perhaps another reason Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein was to express how she felt about her mother. Mary might have felt like the monster Dr. Frankenstein creates because she killed her own mother, or creator. It can not be denied
